The Heart/ Cardiac Risk utility should be only used for the ages between 30 to 74 years.

Heart disease is a major killer of the modern society. There are many factors associated with heart disease and some of these include age of the person, stress, high blood pressure, diabetes, weight, cigarette smoking, level of circulating cholesterol and low density lipo-protein (another type of fat- also considered to be the ‘bad' cholesterol’).

If you know your lipid levels it maybe advisable for you to use this algorithm and estimate your heart risks. 

Please note that diet and exercise can help you to reduce cholesterol, however sometimes medication may also be necessary. A 10% decrease in total cholesterol may reduce your risk for heart disease by 30%.
