Depression is the most common psychiatric disorders, with a high degree of comorbidity. Depression is predicted to be the second-leading cause of disease burden worldwide after HIV/AIDS, by 2030. It is therefore necessary to develop new treatments that have greater short-term and long-term efficacy. Teaching depressed individuals not to ruminate offers an important coping skill for depression.
