Risk of Dyslexia Detected in Young Children

Difficulty recognising words, decoding and writing problems, limitation of reading comprehension. These are the main consequences of dyslexia, a cognitive disorder of neurological origin in which a late diagnosis is the main handicap. Early detection of dyslexia could help develop various training programs to palliate this disorder. A new approach developed by the Basque Center on Cognition, Brain and Language (BCBL) measures the hearing capacity of the children to detect the risk of disorder before they learn to read.
