Does obesity cause complications? Yes. Obese patients are at a risk of developing Diabetes mellitus, Cardiovascular diseases and Hypertension in the long term. Does a low calorie diet help in losing weight? Yes. Weight reduction can be achieved by reducing food intake and by regular exercise. A low calorie diet should constitute a low carbohydrate, high fiber, moderate protein and a low fat diet. Does exercise help in losing weight? 1. Most obese people are capable of moderate aerobic exercise such as walking, swimming, gardening, dancing, provided it does not exceed their cardiovascular capacity. 2. Because of their heavy weight obese people expand more food energy than lean people doing exercise of this type. 3. Regular daily exercise will help in reducing than exercising once in a while. What are the methods in surgical treatment? 1. Wiring the jaws together to prevent eating has been used to treat those who have found it impossible to ahere to a low calorie diet. 2. Although this usually results in marked loss of weight, many patients regain weight when the procedure is reversed. 3. An alternative and fairly safe operation (major) is to reduce the size of the stomach, for eg. by stapling, which can be undone. 4. Small intestine bypass, aimed at inducing mal-absorption, has been undertaken in some centres for the treatment of severe "morbid" obesity, but complications can be severe and sometimes fatal. 5. Posted on: 05/21/2013 I've been doing all the conscious efforts I know to lose weight but it doesn't seem to be helping me at all. I have been obese all my life and experiencing a couple of hypertensive attacks got me real scared. I don't like the idea of using a pill but I was advised to take some diet pills to help get a kick start for a healthy living. I have too many options as recommended by friends and relatives who had gained fantastic results on the pills they've used. I wanna try Prescopodene first because my cousin who used to be as obese like me is now looking great. I hope using a diet pill could help me lose weight.

Posted on: 02/07/2013 People in America are obessed because they eat fry foods, junk food also can effect your body. Another thing that cause to consume as much sugar in their unhealthy body figure. Obessity can lead to heart attack, possibly death. People that dont exercise enough or sleep. If you read the nutrition label it tells how many calories by each serving.

Posted on: 03/16/2012 I would like to see a group start a movement to require fast food commercials to list calories of their product. Everytime I see the Burger King Baconator commercial I wonder how unhealthy that sandwich is as you see the man try to fit it in his mouth. Also, Sunday night on WGN Chicago there is a show I think is called "Taste Chicago" at 10:00 pm. It seems to glorify unhealty eating, they should be obligated to inform viewers of the fat and calorie content of the food the restaurant is serving, hard to watch sometimes, people who are heavy anyway eating greasy unhealthy food. This show should be off the air. I have said my peace.
