Psoriasis - Prognosis

Prognosis

It is indeed difficult to predict the prognosis in patients. But it must be remembered that the disease is lifelong, with the patient experiencing remissions and relapse all through life.

Although life long it is possible to control the symptoms through various mode of therapies best suited for the patient. These treatments too must be carried on for life.

However, the drugs used to treat psoriasis puts the patient on a higher risk to develop certain types of skin cancers and lymphoma.

A significant link between psoriasis in women and pregnancy complications has been discovered and the disorder is a risk factor for cesarian delivery.

A significant propensity has also been observed in psoriasis patients to develop pulmonary hypertension.
