Glossary

Prophylaxis: It is a measure taken to prevent the disease.

Anemia: Decrease in the amount of erthrocytes (Red blood cells) and hemoglobin in the blood.

Cerebral Malaria: An infection of the cerebrum by protozoan parasite plasmodium falciparum.

Sporozoites: They are minute immature forms of sporozoans.

Merozoites: They are a form of malaria parasites that attack the erythrocytes (RBCs).

Vesicles: They are like cyst or sac and are 'exosome like.'

Gametocytes: The sexual stage of the malarial parasites that grow into gametes.

Ookinetes: The motile zygote of the malarial parasite that penetrates into stomach of the mosquito to form an oocyst under outer lining of the gut.

Oocyst: A cyst or a thick walled encapsulated structure that contains ookinete.

You mention about a path breaking research in the treatment of vivax strain of malaria. The only details you mention are that the people behind the research are ecstatic. There seems to be no information regarding either the break through or the research. Either I am unable to view the info on my browser or you haven't provided any!!
