3. Will there be any scar on the breast?There will be a scar, but it will not be very conspicuous. Meticulous care as recommended by the doctor in the post-operative period is very crucial in achieving a good end result. The individual nature of the skin elasticity also plays a role. Some people do have a tendency to form prominent scars.
4. Is breast reduction different from breast lift?Breast lift or mastopexy is done to lift sagging breasts, while reduction is done to down size large unsightly breasts and make them aesthetically appealing. The two procedures though slightly different may have to be combined for better results.
5. Does breast reduction surgery increase my risk for cancer of breast?No it does not increase the risk of cancer. Infact in a study published, it reduced the risk of developing breast cancer after breast reduction surgery.
