 Mind Your Slangs Doctors

Doctors in New Zealand are famous for using slangs and acronyms to refer to patients' particular characteristic or trait. This habit will now have to stop.

Medical records can now be viewed by everyone as they will be stored on a national electronic system. This means patients can actually read the slangs or acronyms used by doctors.

According to Privacy Commissioner, Marie Shroff, using slangs and writing humorous notes about patients by doctors may not be taken well by patients. Therefore, it is better if Doctors keep the writing formal on the medical documents.
