Jennifer Saunders Beats Breast Cancer

52-year-old Jennifer Saunders has overcome breast cancer after an intensive round of surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

The English comedienne, screenwriter, singer and actress, who was diagnosed in October 2009, is now in remission.

Her doctors confirmed that she is indeed in remission, but Ms. Saunders' spokesperson said she had no intention of talking publicly about her disease. The actress is married and has three daughters.

Cancer Research UK\data indicates that breast cancer is now the most common form of cancer in the UK, but the good news as evinced by Ms Saunders' recovery is that survival rates are on the rise.
