Fashionistas can now make a bright fashion statement - by donning a LED-studded fabric that gets lit up by wearer's own movements.

The materials generate static as they rub together while the circuitry acts like a variable capacitor, storing up the electrical charge generated, reports New Scientist.
When it builds up to a certain level the circuitry discharges, powering the LEDs.
Post says he and his colleagues' aims is to create clothing that can power a personal computing device simply by harnessing the energy in the wearer's movements.
