Dopy (10 mg) is a sedating antihistamine, prescribed for short-term treatment of insomnia (difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep). It is also used in combination with decongestants and other medications to relieve sneezing, runny nose, and nasal congestion caused by the common cold. It is used for morning sickness of pregnancy along with vitamin B6 in some countries.

Dosage & When it is to be taken (Indications)

Adult: PO- 10-20 mg at bedtime. Child: PO 5mg at bedtime.

How to use Dopy (10 mg)?

It comes as a tablet to take by mouth for sleep with or without food, and in combination with other medications as a liquid and liquid-filled capsule to treat symptoms of the common cold.

When is Dopy (10 mg) not to be taken? (Contraindications)

Avoid using the drug with alcohol, in patients with severe liver disease, newborns or premature infants.

Warnings and Precautions for Dopy (10 mg)

It will make you drowsy. Do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.

•Caution should be exercised in patients with history of asthma, shortness of breath, chronic bronchitis, or other breathing problems; glaucoma; ulcers; difficulty urinating (due to an enlarged prostate gland); heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, or an overactive thyroid gland; elderly, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
