What are the Symptoms of Meningitis?
The symptoms of meningitis vary according to the age of the individual.
Adults - Usually the patient starts feeling unwell and develops:
- High fever with chills
- Neck rigidity (meningismus)
- Severe headache
- Sensitivity to bright light (photophobia)
- Drowsiness
- Nausea and vomiting
- Seizure.
Babies and infants:
- High fever
- Vomiting
- Refusing to feed
- High pitched crying
- A staring expression
- Neck stiffness
- Irritability
- Bulging fontanelles

please explain the pathophysiology of meningitis.
Meningitis is a dangerous disease. My son had meningitis and we stayed in the hospital for 32 days. It is very costly too! The medicines are expensive. We almost lost him, too. Good thing the doctors are very good.
