Lupin, a pharmaceutical company has opened a research and development center for inhalation products in Florida, the US.

The facility at Coral Springs, Florida, will focus on the research and development of inhalation products for the treatment of asthma, allergic rhinitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and other lung diseases.

In a pivotal move to expand their global presence, an Indian Pharmaceutical company- Lupin Pharmaceuticals, acquired Gavis, a US- based privately- held company.

"With the talent and resources this state provides, our Coral Springs expansion will further strengthen our ability to bring quality, affordable pharmaceuticals to patients in the United States and other key markets globally," said Vinita Gupta, Lupin CEO.
