Parents of some 5 class IV students expressed outrage over forced haircuts for their kids at Government Middle School (GMS), Sector-52 in Chandigarh.
The parents said teachers had allowed students from the adult education course run by department of education, UT administration, to cut the locks of their children as part of a workshop. However some parents said teachers took the consent of the students before snipping their locks.“My daughter told me that teachers never forced them to have a haircut. It was after pupils’ consent was taken that the move was carried out,” said Saroj, mother of Simran, a student at the school.
DPI (schools) Samwartak Singh said he would look into the matter.
