A: Vaginal Infections especially Trichomoniasis can be caused by toilet seats. Other routes of transmission include vaginal intercourse, use of moist towels, bathing suits and underwear and washcloths.

A: Urethritis (burning with urination) is associated with vaginitis especially if there is a Trichomoniasis Infection.

A: If you have Vaginal Infections avoid intercourse. However if you do, indulge in it by wearing a condom. Certain Vaginal Infections like Trichomoniasis can be transmitted from one partner to another. If you are getting this infection repeatedly both partners may need to be treated at the same time.

Q: Does type of clothes have anything to do with Vaginal Infections?

A: Synthetic clothes keep the vaginal area moist and aggravate the infection. Use a cotton pad during infections. When recovering from vaginal infections avoid tight clothes like jeans. Avoid synthetic clothing and preferably wear loose cotton pyjamas that help the vaginal skin to breathe.

Vaginitis in old post-menopausal women is due to lack of hormones. The urethra can also be involved and give rise to recurrent urinary tract infecton. It is almost like the normal grease is missing. Useful information.
