    Medical condition(s) for which Natcardine may be prescribed

    Dosage & When it is to be taken (Indications)

    Adult: PO- Arrhythmia- As sulfate: 200-300 mg 3-4 times/day.
    Malaria As sulfate: 300-600 mg 3-4 times/day for 5-7 days.

    Side effects of Natcardine

    Most Common : Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and heartburn.

    Central Nervous System : Lightheadedness, fatigue, weakness, nervousness and incoordination.

    Heart : Palpitations.

    Eye and ENT : Hearing loss, deafness, blurred vision, double vision, sensitivity to light, headache and confusion.

    How to use Natcardine?

    It comes as a tablet and capsule to take by mouth, with food.

    When Should Natcardine not be taken? (Contraindications)

    Contraindicated in patients with myasthenia gravis, severe uncontrolled, abnormal heart rhythms and hypersensitivity.


    Warnings and Precautions for Natcardine

    Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver or kidney disease, heart failure, heart block, QT prolongation, low blood pressure, high/low blood calcium levels; decreased blood platelets; digitalis intoxication, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

    It may cause dizziness or blurred vision, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.

    Avoid exposure to sunlight.

    Avoid excess dosage.

    Storage Conditions for Natcardine

    Store it at room temperature and away from light.
