This medication is an emergency contraceptive, prescribed for prevention of pregnancy. It works by stopping or delaying ovulation or altering the lining of the uterus to prevent implantation.
Contraindicated to women with known or suspected pregnancy.
Take one tablet orally as soon as possible within 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected intercourse.
It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food.
• Caution should be exercised in patients with history of ectopic pregnancy, liver or kidney impairment, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• It does not prevent the spread of HIV or other sexually transmitted infections.
• It may cause dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
Headache, nausea, abdominal and upper abdominal pain, painful menstrual period, fatigue, dizziness.
Avoid excess dosage.
Store it at controlled room temperature (20-25°C).
