This medication is an immunization agent, prescribed for disease caused by Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) in adults. It works by exposing to a small dose of the virus that causes the body to develop immunity to the disease.
IM- The recommended dose is 0.5ml, 2 doses administered 28 days apart.
It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into the large muscle.
• Caution should be exercised in patients with history of bleeding disorder, high fever, poor immunity, any allergy, elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• Most Common :
Headache, muscle pain, injection site pain and tenderness.
• Gastrointestinal : Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting.
• Miscellaneous : Fatigue, influenza-like illness, fever, nose inflammation, upper respiratory tract infection, back pain, throat pain, rash, cough.
Avoid excess dosage.
Store in a refrigerator at 2° to 8° C.
