Doctors in the city, joined by members of Medical Representatives Association of Haryana began a one-day strike here today to protest the Centre's reservation proposals, affecting heatlh services in various hospitals.
Hundreds of striking doctors including a number of women and ayurvedic doctors, also took out a procession and handed over a memoradum addressed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to the Deputy Commissioner, urging for abolishing of caste based reservations.Meanwhile, the pro-reservation campaign has also gained momentum here and leaders of various organisations have in a meeting resolved to take out a procession tommorow demanding implementation of the reservation hike as soon as possible.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made to maintain the law and order sitution in this city and other parts of the district, police sources said.
