Part of a Lung Removed After Man Availed Medical Help for Injured Foot
An unforgivable medical blunder caused a 64-year-old man from Sweden to have part of his lung removed after he was given an erroneous lung cancer diagnosis in 2009, when he approached The Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm to treat his injured foot.
Thorbjorn Johansson went through inexplicable agony facing a lung cancer diagnosis, an uncertain future and having part of a vital organ removed all because his medical sample got mixed up with that of another patient at the hospital.

This mistake left him unable to carry on with his occupation of a building trades consultant. His physical endurance dropped and many times he felt out of breath.

The hospital did admit to their mistake in 2011. Now, he is planning to sue the hospital for causing irrevocable damage to his health and his career.
