Parliament auditors and the National Audit Office auditors warn if the ministers don’t work hard, the government's £20bn investment in new IT systems for the NHS (England) will flop.

Sir John Bourn, head of the NAO says the scheme has not been satisfied any one who were supposed to be benefited by it.

Lord Warner, the health minister, reported that the records of patient if stored in a electronic system would make doctors to understand better and deep about the condition.

The government planned to organize a GPs' conference at the British Medical Association which focus on detailing the scheme's benefits and implications - said Lord Warner.

NAO says Tony Blair has approved the investment of about £6.2bn for the computerizing plan 3 years ago, and it needs consultations of professional and patients to finalize it.

The scheme involves the maintenance of systems for the first 10 years. Some billions have also been spent on repairing and maintaining the old one’s and if the forthcoming new system remains faster, safer, and more efficient, it proves better – said Patricia Hewitt, the health secretary.
