
To help diagnose problems, a Florida and Belgium based company Establishment Labs has created new breast implants that are equipped with a radio frequency identification (RFID) microchip.
The chip will give doctors and patients easy access to info about the implants, which includes serial number, manufacturer name etc.

By using a handheld device the doctors will be able to quickly find the implant's make and model, even after many years, the New York Daily News reported.
The new product, Motiva Implant Matrix Ergonomix, will be able to provide an extra level of safety assurance.
