 Narendra Modi Interacts With Scientists at Institute for Stem Cell Research for Biological Sciences

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Institute for Stem Cell Research at National Centre for Biological Sciences in Bengaluru where researchers explained the study being conducted there.

Later, Prime Minister Modi interacted with the young scientists for over half an hour. The subjects discussed included research on traditional Indian medicine, progress being made towards finding a cure for sickle cell anaemia using gene therapy, wildlife conservation through gene banks and the 'Make in India' initiative.

He urged the scientists to interact with schoolchildren and motivate them to build careers in this field.

Union Ministers D.V. Sadananda Gowda and Ananth Kumar were also present on the occasion.
