In a move that could further boost the Netherlands' investment in the Indian health care sector, the Healthcare Federation of India (NATHEALTH) on Friday inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Dutch group.
The collaboration with the Netherlands-based Task Force Health Care (TFHC) is intended to improve the healthcare and life science sectors in both countries, NATHEALTH said in a statement.

The absence of stringent regulation of processes such as recycling of lead-based products as well as lack of public awareness contributes to food poisoning.

"India needs a significant increase in funding ($3 trillion cumulatively) to bridge the gaps in Indian healthcare ecosystem. Through this alliance NATHEALTH & Task Force Health Care will develop and strengthen cooperation," said NATHEALTH president Sushobhan Dasgupta.
Visiting Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte was also present at the event held at the Taj Palace Hotel here.
The MoU is aimed at improving cooperation in hospital building and infrastructure, healthy ageing including rehabilitation, strengthening health systems including e-health and management, medical devices, equipment and medical technology, education & training, best practice sharing and alignment with national health policies of the respective countries, Dasgupta elaborated.

In the face of the Maggi noodles controversy, Nestle India has declared its support to its endorsers: Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit and Preity Zinta.
"Today, the Netherlands is the fifth largest source of investments in India," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a joint press briefing with the prime minister of the Netherlands in New Delhi.
Modi added that India was also the fifth largest source of investments in the Netherlands.
The Task Force Health Care is an innovative Dutch platform for the medical sector, which combines the expertise of companies, NGOs, knowledge-institutes and the Dutch government, said Len de Jong, chairman, TFHC working group (India).
"The Netherlands are keen to share their knowledge and experience with that of India. Together we will be able to provide excellent medical healthcare in India as well as in the Netherlands," Jong pointed out.
