A study conducted by New Zealand has revealed that fast eating can increase risks of obesity. Researchers studied the connection between speed of eating and body mass index (BMI) with respect to 1,500 elderly people.
The study showed that more than 50% of women who were habituated to eating fast faced risks of obesity.
Caroline Horwath, team leader of the study said "For every one-step increase in a five-step scale ranging from very slow eating to very fast, the women's BMI increased by 2.8 per cent".
