Eight children in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, have been found to be suffering from thalassaemia and, have been declared HIV positive.

A probe by the Thalassemia Society revealed that 51 patients got infected during blood transfusion at the Ummed Hospital in Jodhpur.
The authorities, however, are blaming the lack of critical medical facilities for their failure to detect impure strains in the blood.
