In the United States, the BA.2 sub-lineage of the Omicron variant now makes up nearly a quarter of new coronavirus infections, revealed data of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
This data is up from around 1 in 10 new cases just a week prior, Xinhua news agency reported.
