Georgia Davis, from Aberdare in South Wales, is a teenager who stands apart due to overweight. At 15 years, she is 5ft 6 and measures 64D-62-74. She has been warned by healthcare experts and school authorities to trim down or prepare to bid an early goodbye to life.

Georgia is suffering from food addiction, and is unable to control herself, though she is aware of the pitfalls of overeating. According to healthcare experts, she needs to knock off 20 stone at least. She has pinned all her hopes on a boarding weight loss school in the United States which assists obese youngsters to lose weight and regain their confidence.

"Doctors have told me I could drop dead at any minute. I can't walk more than a few steps without getting out of breath and a few months ago I developed Type 2 diabetes. When I look in the mirror I feel sad and go to my bedroom and cry. I know it's partly my fault. But it's so hard to stop eating. It's like a drug. Some people choose heroin but I've chosen food and it's killing me," she said.

What began as comfort eating after the death of Georgia's father when she was five, has led to food addiction in her teenage years. The diet of the teenager is packed with peanuts, crispies, sausages, peanuts, chips and lots of milk. She was also a victim of bullying in school and the neighbourhood.

Leslie, Georgia's mother, also obese said, "As a baby Georgia wouldn't keep down normal milk so I gave her condensed milk. We didn't have much money so it was a case of filling up with food we could afford."

Georgia is due to undergo an intensive weight-loss programme for 6 months at the Wellspring Academy in North Carolina.
