Glossary

Pollen: The male fertilizing agent of flowering plants, grasses, trees and weeds.

Allergen: The substance that triggers an allergic reaction.

Allergist: A Physician specially trained to diagnose, treat and manage allergies and immunologic disorders.

Antihistamines: Medications to relieve/prevent hay fever symptoms.

Corticosteroids: Medications that treat asthma and skin allergy.

Rhinitis: Inflammation of the mucous membrane of the nose.
