How to Take Terlipressin and it's Dose


It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into the vein.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Adult: IV- Initial: The recommended dose is 2 mg, then 1 or 2 mg 4-6 hourly until bleeding is controlled, up to 72 hour.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with heart disease, chronic kidney inflammation, pregnancy and hypersensitivity.

Drug Name : Terlipressin

This medication is an analogue of vasopressin, prescribed for bleeding esophageal varices, septic shock, hepatorenal syndrome and in management of low blood pressure.
