How to Take Gramicidin and it's Dose


• Do not touch the eye dropper to the eyes or any other surface to prevent contamination.
• Do not share your eye drops with any one.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

• The drops or ointment should be used as prescribed by the physician, usually around three to four times a day.
• The frequency usually depends on the severity of infection.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Gramicidin is contraindicated in:

• Patients allergic to gramicidin
• Damaged eardrum (in case of eardrops)
• Glaucoma
• Chicken pox, herpes or vaccinia infection

Drug Name : Gramicidin

Gramicidin is a mixture of three compounds gramicidins A, B, and C, which are obtained from the soil bacterial species Bacillus brevis.
