How to Take Desirudin and it's Dose


It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into subcutaneous layer of the skin.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Adults - SC- 15 mg every 12 hour with the initial dose given up to 5 to 15 min before surgery, but after induction of regional block anesthesia if used.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with active bleeding and hypersensitivity.

Drug Name : Desirudin

This medication is a parenteral anticoagulant, prescribed for prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis, which may lead to pulmonary embolism.
