This medication is a synthetic hormone, prescribed for miscarriage, uterine bleeding, and endometrial cancer.
Contraindicated in patients with undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, breast cancer, pregnancy, lactation, severe liver disease, bleeding disorder and hypersensitivity.
IM- The recommended dose is 250 to 500 mg weekly by intramuscular injection during the first half of pregnancy.
It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into the large muscle.
• Caution should be exercised in patients with history of abdominal bleeding, tumors, abortion, sugar, mental depression, any allergy, who are taking other medications.
• Monitor blood sugar level in diabetic patients.
• If bleeding disorder occurs, stop this medication.
Diarrhea, headache, skin rash, hives and pain at the injection site.
Avoid excess dosage.
Store it at room temperature.
