This medication is an amino acid, prescribed as nutritional support for uremic patients.
Contraindicated in patients with severe, uncorrected electrolyte and acid-base imbalance, poor blood circulation, and hypersensitivity.
The recommended dose is 250 to 500 mL /day.
It comes as a solution for injection, to be administered by a healthcare provider into peripheral vein.
• Caution should be exercised in patients with history of impaired kidney function, premature neonates, children, elderly, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• Avoid intravenous administration.
• Monitor blood glucose, liver and kidney functions regularly while taking this medication.
• Irregular heartbeat
• Upset stomach
• Dry mouth
• Weight gain
• Peripheral edema
The side effects also includes signs of allergic reaction:
• Peeling or blistering of skin
• Difficulty in breathing
Avoid excess dosage.
Store it at room temperature (25°C).
