Coffee Eases Depression: Coffee may help fight depression. A joint study from the National Institutes of Health and the AARP discovered that people who drink four or more cups of coffee a day were 10 percent less likely to be depressed than someone who didn't drink coffee at all.

The proposed reason is that coffee acts as a mild antidepressant by aiding in the production of neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline.

Coffee and Skin Cancer: Coffee is not only great for managing your mood but also might decrease your risk of developing basal cell carcinoma, the most common type of skin cancer. A joint study followed 112,897 men and women over a 20-year period and found that women who drank three or more cups of coffee a day were much less likely to develop skin cancer than those who didn't.

Coffee for a Better Athlete: A cup of coffee before a workout can boost athletic performances. Caffeine increases the number of fatty acids in the bloodstream, which help in enduring sports like running and cycling for a longer period.

Coffee and Type 2 Diabetes: Coffee without sugar also lowers risk of Type 2 diabetes, according to a study from The American Chemical Society. The researchers found that people who drink four or more cups of coffee a day reduce their chances of developing Type 2 diabetes by 50 percent. Later on with every additional cup, the risk gets lowered by 7 percent.

Coffee Lowers the Risk of Alzheimer’s Disease: Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of memory loss among older people.According to researchers, people who drink two to three cups of coffee per day may help lower the risk of Alzheimer’s among older people.

Older people with higher levels of caffeine in their blood developed Alzheimer’s disease two to four years later than others with lower caffeine levels.

Coffee can Make you Smarter: Drinking coffees don’t just keep you awake but may help your brain work in a more efficient and smarter way. Studies have shown that caffeine is a primary mechanism, which blocks the neurotransmitter in the brain, associated with sleep. Caffeine can improve mood, reaction time, memory and general cognitive function.
