In the latest effort to get back their youthful skin, people, especially women, are turning to the freaky 'vampire facials' to give life to their aging skin. Dr. Paul Nassif, a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, told CBS News that the procedure helps reduce pore size and fine lines to rejuvenate the skin.
Dr. Julio Gallo from Miami, who conducted the controversial treatment on reality star Kim Kardashian, said that the treatment is good for maintaining and looking fresh and new.
For the facial, technicians draw a vial of a patient's blood, spin it in a centrifuge to separate red blood cells from plasma, and then smear into tiny holes poked in the patient's skin.
