A waitress in Georgia has decided to donate her kidney to a long time regular customer of the restaurant. Mariana Villarreal, waitress in Hooters, Roswell offered to donate one of her kidneys to long time patron Don Thomas.

Villarreal explains that the reason for the donation is her grandmother who recently succumbed to kidney failure.

Dr. Harrison Pollinger, one of the program directors of the Piedmont Transplant Institute, said that both donor and recipient should be able to live healthy lives after the surgery. Villarreal says she hopes their story will inspire others to donate organs to those in need.
