 Sunbeds Could Cause Eye Damage
Failure to use protective glasses provided by tanning salons when using sunbeds could lead to severe damage to your eyes, according to a group of eye experts.
Experts at the College of Optometrists revealed that the UV rays emitted by the sunbed lamps can lead to long term problems to the eyes and merely closing them will not help since the skin of the eyelids are too thin to provide any protection.

Instead sunbed users should wear the protective shades provided in order to prevent damage to the eyes.

“Repeated exposure to UV may cause long-term damage which could affect sight in later life. We only have one pair of eyes, so if you want to safeguard your sight, always ensure you wear the proper protection whether on the sunbed or in the sun”, optometric adviser to the College, Dr Susan Blakeney said.
