SPCA Cleared Off Britney from Pet Abuse Investigation

by VR Sreeraman on Aug 28 2007 5:50 PM

Britney Spears has been cleared as a threat to her dogs following an investigation by animal welfare authorities.

The Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals (SPCA) in Los Angeles started scrutinising the pop tart last week after reports surfaced that her two young sons were responsible for Yorkshire terrier London's broken leg.

However, now the SPCA has confirmed that Spears is a caring dog owner and is no longer on the dog welfare hit list, reports People.

An insider reveals that apparently, someone accidentally stepped on the dog when it made its way into one of Spears’s closets.

The authorities contacted the vet who treated the little dog for a fracture to one of its legs.

In a statement SPCA said that the Los Angeles branch "has received written confirmation from a veterinarian that Britney Spears's dog London has received proper medical attention for a leg injury."

"SPCA would like to thank Ms. Spears for her cooperation on this matter as well as members of the public for their ongoing concern for the welfare of animals," the group added.
