Screening of Toddlers Who are Likely to Develop Violent Tendencies, Addictions

Scientists will soon be examining Scottish toddlers aged 24-30months, to test their capacity for violent crime, drug abuse and mental illness when they grow old. This scheme has been launched by Glasgow under which the health officials will look out for emotional and behavioral problems among children. Experts are of the opinion that children who are at a risk of developing violent tendencies or addictions later in life are not being identified at an early stage and they hope this 'Healthy Child' program to help tackle violence and drug abuse in Glasgow.

Parents will have to fill up a questionnaire on the basis of which the health workers will establish whether the children are aggressive, bullying, spiteful and if they cheat or lie. Similarly children at risk of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) will be screened on the basis of their language grasping abilities. Support in the form of parenting classes will be offered to parents whose toddlers fall in the high risk group.
