Re-Tests Confirm the Presence of Detergent and Frozen Fat in Mother Diary’s Milk: FDA
Re-tests of milk samples from mother dairy booths at the Kolkata-based Central Laboratory found to contain detergent and frozen fat, said the Ghaziabad Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).
The district FDA official, Vineet Kumar, said, “District FDA teams had collected samples of "full cream milk" on January 11 from a Mother Dairy booth situated at H-Block in Govindpuram, while samples of toned milk were collected on January 30 from the booth situated at 100 feet road in Loni, in the district.”

“Both the samples were sent to State Laboratory at Meerut for testing, where they were found it to be of sub-standard as they contained "low fat". But, Mother Dairy officials challenged the test reports and demanded for a re-test of samples at Kolkata-based Central Laboratory,” he said.

“The test report of Kolkata's Central Laboratory has been submitted to the District Magistrate Vimal Kumar Sharma, who in turn will forward it to the Commissioner to seek his approval to initiate legal action against Mother Dairy,” said the official.

Marketing head of Mother Dairy, Sandeep Ghosh said, “ As there are contradictions between the two test reports, Mother Dairy will approach appropriate legal forum to challenge them.”
