Radiotherapy Not Being Used Enough to Treat Cancer
A new report released by a charity organization said that chemotherapy's popularity as the best method of treating cancer means that a number of people are missing out on radiotherapy which can help cure the disease.

According to Cancer Research UK, more than 30,000 cancer patients are missing out on radiotherapy since they do not believe that it is an effective method of treating cancer. Just 10 percent of the population believes that radiotherapy can be used to treat the disease while a majority of cancer patients do not regard it as a "cutting edge" treatment.

Less than 40 percent of the total cancer patients in the country receive radiotherapy as part of their cancer treatment though the rate of a successful treatment using radiotherapy is more than 50 percent.

While the general population often believes chemotherapy to be the best way of treating cancer, health experts state that surgery combined with radiotherapy is in fact the most efficient treatment.
