The expiry of the exclusive patent for Viagra, the male erectile dysfunction drug manufactured by American firm Pfizer in Ireland, has led to reduction in the price of the drug.

This is bound to happen as there are a number of competitors as there are nearly 120 alternative versions of this drug worldwide.
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a male sexual dysfunction characterized by the inability to develop or maintain an erection of the penis during sexual performance. Erectile dysfunction affects 10-15% of all males and can be emotionally and psychologically disabling for men and their partners. It is more common in men over 65 years, but it can occur at any age.
