World wide concern regarding the use of poultry waste and feces as food for fish growth as increased the widespread fear that the bird flu virus in the feces may be spread with the feces to pond farms which may infect wild birds and migratory birds leading to worldwide spread of the bird flu virus. Researchers feel that the bird flu outbreak in china may be due to contaminated feces which would have been used as feed for fishes in the river Qinghai, which would have infected the Indian origin bar headed geese which migrates to Qinghai, which was responsible for the Chinese outbreak of H5N1 strain of bird flu. Though, the virus has not been isolated from poultry feces it has increased fear of a pandemic threat of bird flu.
