Fifty successful organ donations were completed by Jeevandan Andhra Pradesh. The state has been doing quite well in deceased organ donation for the past few years. According to Jeevandan, Andhra Pradesh has witnessed a total number of 80 organ donations from January to July 2017.
India lags far behind in organ donation rates when compared to other countries like Spain where the organ donation rate is 36 per million population (pmp) as against 0.8 pmp in India.
