Kiwi Skeptics Brush Off Fear That World Would End Soon
All the debate and fear about the nearing of the end of the world has been brushed aside by NZ sceptics.
"This idea that a large, unknown planet is going to swing by and take out Earth in just a couple of years' time ... there are a lot of people who genuinely believe this is going to happen," The New Zealand Herald quoted NZ Skeptics chairwoman Vicki Hyde, as saying.

"There's certainly no scientific evidence to show this," she added.

Hyde said she knew people who planned to euthanize their pets because they believed the world was coming to an end.

"The problem is ignorance has its consequences," she said.

Also in the line of fire were - homeopathic therapy, Power Balance sports bracelets and TV's Paul Henry.
