 Kerala’s Sport Initiative

 Sports education will become part of the school curriculum in Kerala, after the Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan inaugurates this plan on Monday.

This initiative is actually a part of the Total Physical Fitness Programme of the Government in Kerala, declared Sports and PWD Minister, M. Vijayakumar. The objective is to foster a good sports culture and help young people to be more conscious of the need for physical fitness.

 The plan is to implement the programme at the primary, upper primary and secondary stages, before implementing it in colleges. To make it attractive, physical education camps, special coaching, and friendly matches are being planned.

Trained teachers are being recruited and also, schools have been linked in clusters to implement the programme successfully.
