Just the previous month statistics show how much Facebook has lost out - there has been a 4% drop and FB has lost 6 million US visitors. Data from the past six months point out that 9 million monthly visitors in the US and 2 million in the UK seem to have lost interest and are looking for other options.

Frequent change in its designs and troublesome privacy settings could be irritating users giving way to better designed networks like path, which are found to be more appealing. Facebook may not be able to hold users' interest after all the initial euphoria three to four years back.

Users can look forward to announcements by Facebook with results for the quarter anytime soon.
