Veteran Marxist leader Harkrishan Singh Surjeet has again fallen ill.

He has been admitted at the Metro Hospital in Noida, where he was treated for respiratory problems earlier.

Earlier on May 17, he had slipped into coma. A CAT scan showed that his brain was functioning, while his blood-related parameters were said to be normal.

The veteran CPI (M) leader was suffering from cardiac-respiratory problems, and was not included in the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Polit Bureau at the party's 19th congress in April this year.

He was instead nominated as a special invitee to the Central Committee.
