Many young people felt a great sense of loss when they are separated from their gadgets. A study claims that when young people are deprived of their gadgets their behavior can be compared to those of drug addicts going “cold turkey”.
The study which evaluated the behavior of people in ten countries, between ages 17 and 23, who were made to spend 24 hours away from phones, internet, TV, social networking sites, found that 79 percent of subjects reported adverse reactions like confusion and isolation.
One in five felt a deep sense of failure and confusion, 19% felt distressed and isolated, and 21% actually experienced the benefit of not having their cell phones and other communication devices.
